Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, is one of India’s oldest and most successful tiger reserves. Famous for its incredible tiger sightings, Tadoba is often called the “Jewel of Vidarbha” and is considered a paradise for wildlife photographers and nature lovers. The reserve combines the Tadoba National Park and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary, covering a vast 1,727 sq. km. of rich forests, meadows, bamboo groves, and water bodies. Tadoba’s star attraction is its thriving tiger population, including legendary tigresses and dominant males that have been documented by photographers from all over the world. Apart from tigers, the reserve hosts a wide variety of wildlife such as leopards, sloth bears, Indian wild dogs (dholes), gaurs, hyenas, sambar, barking deer, and over 250 species of birds. The landscape is dotted with beautiful lakes like Tadoba Lake, Telia Lake, and Panchdhara, which act as major wildlife hotspots—especially during summer when big cats come to drink water. Tadoba is also unique because it offers year-round safari access, making it one of the best destinations in India for consistent wildlife sightings. With its well-maintained safari routes, skilled guides, and comfortable eco-lodges, Tadoba promises a thrilling and immersive jungle experience for all travelers.
